"Look Up!" Pageant Report and Other Items

If you try anything, ... to improve yourself, ... or to make the world a better place, you have already achieved something wonderful, before you even begin. Forget failure. If things don't work out the way you want, hold your head up high and be proud. And try again. And again. And again!

"Look Up!" at The Pageant Theatre – Report

Chico Sky Watch showed George Barnes' documentary film "Look Up!" at The Pageant Theatre on Saturday to an audience of about 25 interested and concerned people. The discussion after the film was spirited: important questions were raised, crucial knowledge shared and contact connections made during the Q&A and afterward.

Thank you again to our Sponsors: Betty Credit, Joe Henegar, Dr. Pruett, DDS, Lotus Guide, Marla Crites, Mr. Kopy, and www.iPopeye.net (as well as Betty Credit & Cindy Romain for helping at the theater and at the Saturday Farmers' Market and Chico Natural Foods tabling, Scott et al. for putting up posters around town, and Miles & The Pageant Theatre).

Unfortunately, the turn-out numbers were discouraging, especially in light of the fact that several volunteers (Betty, Cindy, Scott, and Bill) had spent many hours creating and distributing flyers and posters for weeks before the screening. In fact, were it not for additional donations from a couple of attendees (thank you Bob Bowman, a long-time supporter of CSW) and an anonymous donation of $95, we would not have been able to pay for the theater rental. (we needed 30 people to break even – for some reason the attendance has decreased over the years for each presentation, along with the overall support of the people claiming to be concerned about this increasingly dire issue)

These events are also fundraising events for CSW, to refill our depleted coffers, which usually do not amount to much as it is, so that also hurts us a little. (actually, a lot – the various events we do throughout the year, as well as the flyers and information we hand out, are fairly costly to produce and fund, and we rely on the donations of the group members and a supportive public so a select few do not have to fund everything themselves out of their own pockets)

We need everyone to understand that any movement forward on ending GeoEngineering requires all of us to work together for the long haul. Yes, we are all busy, but remember that with every breath you take, nano-particles of toxic heavy metals enter your body to degrade your health and well-being. Only when awareness reaches critical mass, will we see these life threatening programs come to an end.

Next Monthly Meeting is Tomorrow.

(sorry for the short notice – we were caught up in the Saturday film event)

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, October 13 at 7:30 pm at the Chico branch of the Butte County Library at 1108 Sherman Ave. corner of First Ave.

Please attend, bring a friend, and spread the word far and wide.

Along with our usual meeting activities, following are the proposed discussion items:

    1) A debriefing or critiquing of the Saturday film screening outcomes, financial details, outreach objectives met or unmet, and ways to improve future screenings.
    2) Our KZFR underwriting commitment goes through the end of October. Has it been effective? Shall we renew it?
    3) Thoughts on developing a speakers' committee. We've been invited to address concerns about GeoEngineering in Charles Withuhn's CSUC Ollie class on censored news. Similar presentations may happen with Ben Hills' group and the Butte County Health Care Coalition.
